1) What has been the hardest/ most shocking cultural difference you have experienced since coming to the US?
I cannot find the kind of food that I like to eat. I also find it very strange how Americans often eat while they walk on the street and when they are riding the bus in public. In my country this is very rude. I would never eat a McDonalds meal on the bus!!
2) What cultural difference might be the hardest/ most shocking for a foreigner visiting your country?
I don't know what would a foreigner find shocking. Maybe they would surprised at how we speak so indirectly. In my country it is rude to speak bluntly and directly, so we give little hints in conversation to say what we really mean. I think Americans might find this very different from their culture.

Assignment 1
1) In the comic on the left, who are the two main characters?
There is a little girl with purple hair and an alien slug who is green and lives on a star far away.
2) What differences between the two main characters do you see?
The girl has purple hair and the slug does not have hair. The little girl lives on Earth and the alien lives on a star. The alien slug has three legs and the girl has two legs. The people around the girl look different than the aliens around the slug.
3) What similarities are apparent?
Their societies are identical. They see the same things on the TV. They see the same things in the streets. The advertisements are the same. They both go to cry under a tree. They are both looking at the sky.
4) What point(s) do you think the artist is trying to make with this comic?
That no matter where we live, we will find similarities. Maybe that society is the same everywhere.
